Two Bar House is a one story home in Long Island, designed with its broad side facing the water. This bar contains bedrooms and public spaces to maximize views and connection to nature. The other bar follows the angle of the nearby road and holds utility spaces.

Architecturally, the Two Bar House emerges from our study of the mashup of roof geometries that is common to the American vernacular. The building is created by laying out two linear bars each with its own pitched roof.

Whereas ranch style homes are often condemned to include a dreary corridor, the intersection of two simple bars in this project creates an interior gallery space instead.
